Combining the allure of a Food Network cooking show and the dark depths of hungry college student life, Lade Tinubu and Cristina Rojas-Moises pull off an apt institutional critique in collaboration with an unlikely helper: the grilled cheese sandwich. Inspired by […] is centered around a grilled cheese tutorial intended to save the artists from their hunger-fueled exhaustion, yet only culminates in subpar results. Bread is moldy, and the only cheese available is from a can. Evidently, the recipe provided by the sous chefs is proven to be insufficient. At the end of the film, Tinubu and Rojas-Moises turn the circumstances around and spoon-feed the audience a hefty serving of aesthetic, concluding the work with an 80+-word long list essentially of buzzwords. The work, all in all, draws a parallel between the art world and gluttony—and quite accurately so. Bon appétit ! - Emma Huerta
